Are You In The Arena?

Yes! We accept all creative work, even if it has been published already. Please make sure to put the name of the previous institution your work was published at when submitting. 

Each person can submit the following:

For poetry, a maximum of 5 poems. Poems must be 10 pages or shorter. 

For fiction, a maximum of 2 short stories may be submitted. Must be under 20 pages. 

For nonfiction, same page number rules apply as fiction pieces. 

Pieces must be submitted as an attached Google doc, Word document, or PDF doc. Please send each work as its own file. Please title the subject line with your first and last name + submission (ex. "John Smith + Submission"). Please also provide a 50 word bio of yourself. 

If your work is accepted, we ask for first publishing rights and archival rights. Upon publication in our digital magazine, all rights revert back to the author. We would be grateful if you could credit In The Arena. as the place where your work first appeared, should the piece be reprinted in the future​.
